On July 31st, Welcome to Night Vale‘s Dylan Marron, also known for his various web series, premiers a new podcast, Conversations With People Who Hate Me. A trailer for the show debuted today, July 11th, on Welcome to Night Vale‘s podcast stream and Dylan Marron’s website.
The teaser features exactly what one would expect from the title: Marron calling up people who hate him and having conversations. Because so much of Marron’s online presence has revolved around social justice issues, it’s no surprise he’s amassed a high number of negative feedback. Because so much of Marron’s online presence is also through confronting this feedback with kindness, though, this podcast isn’t shocking either, though its premise is absolutely a delightful surprise.
The trailer has clips from the upcoming episodes and ends in a few of the callers affirming that no, they don’t hate Marron–whether they have changed their minds or never really hated him in the first place. While the trailer gives the idea that each of these conversations is successful, I’m sure the podcast itself will be a little more dramatic.
Conversations With People Who Hate Me debuts on July 31st, and updates can be found on the show’s site. You can also already subscribe to the show on Apple Podcasts, Pocket Casts, etc.
