This Week in Podcasts is a weekly roundup of mini-reviews of all of the podcasts I’ve listened to in a week. “Chapter 4: Hedging Your Bets”
In this fourth episode of ZigZag, we’ve moved past the discussion of the tech world, the blockchain, and Civil to dive into the hosts’ anxieties about their podcast–specifically, about the money. This emotional honesty is one of the reasons ZigZag is already one of my favorite listens: the hosts are up front about their fears, making sure the podcast is genuine and not sugar-coated. It’s so easy to empathize with Manouch Zomorodi and Jen Poyant, even if the listener hasn’t literally quit their job to make a pocast; it’s a relatable, authentic story about making a huge leap that might not work. In the episode, the hosts talk with Roman Mars about their fears, and in true Mars fashion, each thing he says is advice every podcaster should hear.
