This morning, after almost two years without updates, a teaser for Limetown’s second season was released on the podcast’s feed. The trailer is narrated by season one protagonist Lia Haddock, and asks the listener two questions:
- Do you believe Lia Haddock is still alive?
- Why do you believe that?
The trailer gives few details, leaving the release date as a simple “2018.”
For those who haven’t listened to Limetown, the show is the first audio drama produced by Two-Up, the production team behind this year’s wildly popular 36 Questions. The show is a science fiction horror piece about a town where all of the residents–who were all scientists–mysteriously went missing. The show is modeled after true crime podcasts, as though it were a journalistic investigation.
I have always considered Limetown to be one of the holy grails of podcasting. The writing, acting, and production are all as close to flawless as I have found in an audio drama. If you haven’t listened yet, it seems like now is the perfect time to catch up. You can find Limetown on any major podcast streaming platform or on their website.

I am excited but I heard that they had a book deal in the works and a TV show, I wonder what happened?

Yeah accurate! I have a feeling both fell through for now, and they might be waiting on the numbers from Season 2 to reignite those projects. I’m sure we’ll hear more soon! I would kill for that prequel TV show.
